Whilst speaking to Bloomberg TV regarding his inclusion on this year’s Bloomberg 50 list, Ethan Brown has stated that in 2020 his company, Beyond Meat Inc, will introduce plantbased poultry products next year, including a whole muscle breast tissue.
Beyond’s current portfolio products, the Beyond Burger, Beyond Beef, and Beyond Sausage products are already available in more than 58,000 retail and foodservice locations around the world. Plantbased chicken could be seen as an obvious direction for the company, after phenomenal sales of vegan fried chicken in 2019 and the KFC product Beyond Chicken selling out in hours during trials.
“Exciting things”
“You’ll see some exciting things from us in the poultry space in 2020,” Brown said in the Bloomberg interview. “I can’t name specific partners or developments.”
