Originally from California, Marlena is a Master's student at the Free University of Berlin studying Sociology. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Feminist Studies and Social Movements from the University of California Santa Barbara. Marlena has a record of working in academic research and for social impact start-ups, including the very first zero-waste shop in Germany, Original Unverpackt. She enjoys painting, vegetarian cooking, and Sunday flea markets.
