One of NYC’s sustainable black owned businesses, Madame Matovu Vintage is a small Manhattan thrift store located in the West Village on 240 W 10th Street. Here you can find clothing, homewares, artwork, jewelry and other accessories. Their curated vintage products range from affordable, quality pieces, to more high-end items as well. Whether you’re looking for a Prada bag or a simple tank top, this is a great place to start. 

2. Central Park Resale Consignment & Gallery

Found at 22 W 66th, Central Park Resale Consignment & Gallery sells a range of both designer brands and more affordable pieces. Products include clothing, bags and accessories, both vintage and secondhand. Check out this thrift shop for both designer dresses and simple blue jeans.

3. The Thrifty Hog

Another Black-owned business, the Thrifty Hog is found at 11 W 25th Street. The Thrifty Hog is a high-end Manhattan boutique offering vintage clothing for both adults and children, bags, jewelry, and home decor. They carry almost exclusively designer brands. Though expensive, 100% of their profits go to charity for homeless mothers and children. 

4. Cure Thrift Shop

Cure Thrift Shop offers secondhand clothing, furniture and housewares. Everything from coffee tables and couches to skirts and scarves can be found at this NYC thrifting gem. Located at 91 3rd Avenue, Cure is worth the stop. Not only do they have lots of quirky, unique pieces, but their proceeds go to diabetes research.

5. El Barrio Thrift Store

This East Harlem thrift store can be found at 2123 2nd Avenue. Known for their incredible prices, El Barrio Thrift Store sells a huge range of products including furniture, home goods, decor, clothing and accessories. 

6. Unique Boutique

Unique Boutique is one of the affordable thrift stores in Manhattan with loads of different products. You may have to dig a bit, but it’s well worth it. Check out their range of books, DVDs, housewares, clothing, bags and more. Find the shop in Carnegie Hill at 1674 3rd Avenue.

7. L Train Vintage

This cute vintage store offers loads of options at affordable prices. With several locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn, L Train Vintage is a family-owned business offering vintage clothing. Their racks are full of denim, dresses, streetwear styles, button-downs, footwear and bags. 

8. East Village Thrift Shop

The East Village Thrift Shop at 186 2nd Avenue is a huge second-hand shop offering inexpensive items. Whether you’re looking for clothing, funky decorations, housewares, shoes or DVDs, you won’t leave disappointed.
