Homemade Oreos are a treat to bake in the kitchen. They are easy to make, tasty, and vegan. This recipe is totally plant-based, much healthier for you than regular Oreos, and extra delicious. 

Chocolate Cookie Ingredients:

  • 1 cup oat flour 
  • ½ cup fairtrade cacao powder
  • ¼ cup maple syrup (substitute for agave) 
  • 2½ tbsp. organic coconut oil, melted
  • ¼ tsp. salt

Coconut Cream Filling Ingredients:

  • ½ cup organic coconut cream 
  • ¼ cup maple syrup (substitute for agave)
  • 1 tbsp organic coconut oil 
  • 1 tbsp plant-based milk of choice 
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Homemade Vegan Oreo Cookies: Instructions

  1. First, start by making the cookies. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oat flour, cacao powder, and salt. Add in the maple syrup and melted coconut oil. Mix until a loose dough is formed. 
  2. Spread out a sheet of parchment paper or parchment paper alternative on a clean surface. Place your dough onto the paper, and cover with a second piece of baking paper. Roll out the dough using a rolling pin to your desired thickness. Cut into circles with a cookie cutter.
  3. Place your cookies in the fridge for 30 to 35 minutes to set. 
  4. Now it’s time to make the coconut cream filling. In a food processor, add all the filling ingredients and blend until smooth. 
  5. Remove the cookies from the fridge, and sandwich two cookies together using about a teaspoon of the filling. 
  6. Dip them in your favorite plant-based milk and enjoy! 
  7. Store these homemade vegan Oreo cookies in the fridge for up to 1 week.
