Keeping stoves squeaky clean and shiny can be an arduous task. This guide will show you how to clean stainless steel stove without using harsh chemicals.
Stainless steel is a popular option for appliances, fixtures, and everything in between since it is both stylish and long-lasting. However, when it comes to how to clean stainless steel stoves, frequent washing to remove fingerprints, grime, and debris is necessary.
To clean your stainless steel stove, you don’t need to resort to expensive chemical cleaning products. To support the environment and protect your own health, you can easily use household ingredients to make all-natural cleaners that will get your stove sparkling clean in no time.
1. All-Natural Stainless Steel Cleaner: White Vinegar & Olive Oil
As a sanitizer and an all-natural disinfectant, white vinegar is an excellent choice. A combination of vinegar and olive oil works well since it removes all the dirt and leaves the surface looking bright and new.
To begin:
- Mix equal amounts of hot water and white vinegar into a spray bottle. The vinegar solution will smell nicer if you add some lemon juice. Give the spray bottle a good shake.
- Spray the solution over the stainless steel stove surface that you wish to clean.
- Using a soft microfiber towel, wipe off all surfaces in the same direction as the grain.
Allow the solution to soak in for a few minutes before wiping the cloth in the direction of the grain of the stove. The vinegar can be used as many times as necessary to eliminate any accumulated filth from the surface.
To get a spotlessly smooth finish, use a small amount of olive oil to buff the stainless steel surface:
- Drizzle a few drops of olive oil onto a microfiber towel.
- Next, buff the surface in the direction of the grain until it shines.
- Wipe away any remaining olive oil residue with a dry towel.
Remember: Organic olive oil produced in the United States is your best bet when it comes to environmental sustainability. As it turns out, olive trees may be cultivated in a number of states: California, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Oregon, Alabama, Hawaii, and Georgia.
2. Cleaning a Stainless Steel Stove With Orange Peels
Citric acid is great for cleaning various household surfaces, and stainless steel is no exception. Citric acid is a great disinfectant and cleaner that easily removes things like soap scum, hard water spots, and calcium deposits. Remember, when buying oranges or any produce, choosing local and organic oranges is better for your community and for the planet!
Using orange peels to clean your stainless steel stove is also a great way to reduce food waste.
Here’s what to do:
- Put your orange peels in a saucepan with boiling water for a few minutes.
- After it’s been strained, pour the concentrated solution into a spray bottle.
Besides cleaning stainless steel stoves, this cleanser can also be used on your refrigerator, and microwave oven, but be careful not to use it on natural stone surfaces or brass items. Using citric acid to clean these goods may really do more harm than good!
Tip: If you use tap water to make this cleaner, the minerals it contains might leave behind streaks. For best results, use filtered water instead.
3. Club Soda: a Tasty Remedy
Cleaning your stainless steel stove can also be done using a simple solution of vinegar and club soda. In this regard, club soda is just as effective as a stain remover as it is as a DIY upholstery cleaner.
To get started, here’s everything you’ll need to make a solution with club soda.
- 1 cup of distilled, carbonated water (I.e. club soda)
- White vinegar in a half cup
- 1 tbsp. of dish soap
To use:
- Mix the ingredients in a spray bottle and shake it vigorously.
