Dry nose occurs when the mucus membranes in your sinuses lack proper moisture. This can lead to a dry sinuses and symptoms such as nosebleeds or nasal discomfort. Dry nose usually occurs as a result of a cold or allergies, which can cause you to blow your nose too much, causing the skin to become very dry. Although it can be uncomfortable, it is rarely serious. There are natural home remedies you can try that will help to alleviate the symptoms.

Coconut oil helps to restore moisture to the skin, which can reduce discomfort. It has many other benefits for the skin, including the fact that it boosts elasticity and moisture, contains fatty acids, and reduces inflammation. You can apply coconut oil directly to the nostrils or any other areas that are experiencing dryness, once a day. Studies show that coconut oil also has antimicrobial properties, which means it can prevent infections from developing due to the dry, broken skin.

To make a solution, mix one teaspoon of pure salt or sea salt with half a cup of distilled water, and put the solution into a spray bottle. Once you have sprayed the solution into your nostrils,  blow out the solution after 10 seconds. You can repeat this three or four times a day when you feel it is needed.

Steaming your nostrils is another natural way to relieve symptoms of dry nose. Fill a bowl with near-boiling water, and place your head over it, with a towel on top to keep in the steam. Take deep breaths in order to allow the steam to soothe and moisturise your nasal passages. Alternatively, you can take a hot shower or have a bath to gain the same effects.
