Why use store-bought sauces when you can easily make your own? Learn how to make a delicious and healthy vegan BBQ sauce in five easy steps.

BBQ sauce goes great alongside many foods. However, this store-bought sauce is hardly ever made with healthy ingredients. Most BBQ sauces are made with high fructose corn syrup, and if you are lucky enough to find one that is high-quality and organic, it will most likely be very pricy. The best solution? Make your own vegan BBQ sauce – it’s healthier, and there are no additives or excessive amounts of sugar. In this article we’ll show you how to make a delicious vegan BBQ sauce from scratch, which is better for your health… and for your wallet!

  1. In a saucepan, fry the onion and garlic in a drizzle of olive oil, until slightly caramelized.
  2. Add the tomato puree, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, salt, smoked paprika, and ground coriander. Mix until combined.
  3. Transfer your mixture into a blender, and blend until smooth.
  4. Transfer the mixture back to the saucepan and simmer for 10 minutes.
