Follow this guide on how to make your own DIY foot scrub to help keep your soles healthy and strong. Our feet take quite the beating on a daily basis, so it is important to take care of them regularly.

Why Use a DIY Foot Scrub

Our feet take a real beating. From walking and running to too-tight shoes, our feet bear the brunt of much of what we do in our daily lives. This is why we form calluses on the soles of our feet. As unattractive as they may be, this is our bodies’ natural way of thickening the skin to protect from friction and pressure.

However, if left untreated, calluses will continue to build up. This can lead the skin to become painful, dry, and even cracked.

This is why treating and tending to our feet on a weekly basis is important. We show you how to do it with these five easy DIY foot scrub recipes.

How to Use Your DIY Foot Scrub

Apply generous amounts to your feet, and gently rub the scrub into your soles in circular motions for about 5 minutes. Wash the scrub off either with a warm, damp washcloth or wash the scrub away with warm water in the shower.

To store your homemade foot scrub, add your scrub to an airtight container or jar you can seal shut. Store this in a dry place. Your homemade foot scrub will keep for up to one month like this.
