This perfect summer margarita mocktail is full of spark and flavor and contains no alcohol. It can be whipped up in five minutes, a perfect way to relax at the end of the day.

This margarita mocktail is citrusy, summery, and refreshing, great for long hot days or as a bright, zesty drink all year round. It mixes lime, lemon, and orange juice with sweet agave nectar to balance the sour taste, the salt on the rim of the glass gives it an extra kick. This mocktail can be served at summer parties or barbecues and goes well with Mexican food such as vegan tamales, it is good at balancing out heavy or rich dishes.

Yield: 6 glasses

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 3/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup agave nectar
  • 7 lime wedges
  • Flaky sea salt
  • 3 cups of club soda

Instructions:

  1. Mix the orange, lime, and lemon juice with the agave nectar in a large jug.
  2. Wet the rims of six glasses with a lime wedge. Then press them in a dish of flaky sea salt.
  3. Add ice cubes to each glass and pour in the juice mixture.
  4. Add the club soda to each glass.
  5. To serve, add a lime wedge to the top of each glass.

The recipe can be altered in a few different ways, for example:

  • Instead of using lime juice you can use lime cordial or freshly squeezed limeade and don’t add the agave nectar as it will be sweet enough without.
  • You can make your mocktail into a slushy by blending the citrus juices with ice, pouring it into the glasses, and then topping up with club soda.
  • Use a tablespoon of golden syrup or half a tablespoon of maple syrup instead of the agave nectar.
  • For the rim of the glasses, use organic raw sugar which will make it sweeter.
