Oatmeal face masks are a great way to nourish your skin and can be adapted to suit many different skin types. Learn how to make a variety of oatmeal face masks here.

Oatmeal is not only a great breakfast option, it’s good for your skin as well. Oats are packed with antioxidants and can be used as a skin therapeutic agent as they are anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, and anti-fungal. Oats can be used for any skin type, and have been shown to benefit dermatitis, psoriasis and acne.

Oats are available at nearly any grocery store, though buying them at bulk stores can help reduce packaging waste and go plastic-free. Oats are also an environmentally friendly ingredient as they don’t require much energy or water to grow – but for the most sustainable option, look for organic and regionally sourced oats. Depending on the mask, some are better applied warm, room temperature or cold. However, if you have leftovers, keep your mask fresh in a glass container in the fridge. As these masks are made with all natural ingredients, you should only store your oatmeal face mask for up to three days.
