Matcha Cookies Recipe: Step by Step

  • ½ cup vegan butter or a vegan butter substitute
  • 3 tbsp plant milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup organic brown sugar
  • 2 cup flour
  • 2 ½ tsp matcha powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt


  1. In a bowl, add the vegan butter, plant milk, vanilla extract, and brown sugar and mix until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the dry ingredients to the first bowl and mix until combined.
  4. Dust a clean surface with flour and transfer the mixture from the bowl. Then roll out the dough and cut out cookies with a cookie cutter.
  5. Place your cookies on a baking tray with parchment paper and bake for 35 minutes at 350°F.
  6. Let the cookies cool down on the baking tray for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. Enjoy!
